Shortness of breath, coughing, and other debilitating symptoms can impact every aspect of your life - from sleeping, to eating, to going to the bathroom. Everything is more difficult when it’s hard to breathe. Your family and friends can be a wonderful support system, but it can sometimes be difficult to fully understand what someone with lung disease is going through.

That’s where a support group can help. When you join a support group, you will have the opportunity to meet other people who are living with lung disease. These groups can be a source of information to help manage your condition. They’ll also give you a feeling of community. Just being around other people who have lived with the same breathing issues can make you feel less alone. Support groups often engage the help of "experts", to provide information on topics that are of interest to the group, providing valuable information for managing lung disease.

Support groups come in different forms. There are in-person support groups, and there are also virtual groups available online.

I Want Help Creating a Support Group
If you or a loved one is considering a lung transplant or has had a lung transplant, you are invited to join our Lung Transplant Support Group. This group is a safe space to share your experience and gain insight into how others manage pre-transplant and post-transplant life.
While we have established support groups available, you may be looking to create your own support group. We can provide assistance to help you create your own lung health support group.
