MLA Radon Detector Loan Program

Why loan out radon detectors? By providing these kits to local MLA offices, we are increasing awareness with constituents about the dangers of radon gas and the need to test and mitigate. Ultimately, we want all home owners to be aware of radon and understand that they should get their homes tested.

We are also hoping that by getting your local MLAs involved in this project, our political leaders will also become more aware of radon gas and the danger it presents to homeowners.

Will this provide an accurate reading of radon in my home? 

The radon detectors being provided for loan are intended for short-term testing and do not replace the long-term tests recommended by Health Canada. Because the loan period needs to be limited, the intent of providing these devices for loan is to simply provide homeowners with an idea of the radon levels in their home.
