Meet The Team

Robert is a creative and engaging executive who has built a solid reputation as an effective organizational leader. During his tenure as CEO, he has greatly improved the organization's finances, increased staff retention, improved programming, built strong partnerships with stakeholders, and has grown the organization through a merger with the PEI Lung Association. He is passionate about continuing to improve lung health in both NS and PEI.

Maria joined the team in April 2016 as the Senior Manager of Finance. She is happy to bring to the team more than 25 years of accounting and office management experience at a locally-owned retail and wholesale company.

Michelle is responsible for advancing LungNSPEI's mission by leading a comprehensive communications and marketing program that strengthens and protects the brand and delivers measurable results towards achieving the organization's mission. Michelle oversees communications and marketing planning and execution, executive communications, media relations, internal communications, & creative services.

Julia has been leading the PEI office since 2018, and is responsible for coordinating our Island based programs. She has an undergraduate in Health Promotion and a Master of Public Health. 

 

Julia brings with her 10+ years of experience working in Tobacco Reduction and has extensive experience as a project leader on tobacco related initiatives both within the non-profit and government sector.

 

Since beginning her role, she has helped bring new lung health programming to Islanders, built strong partnerships with stakeholders and successfully advocated for changes to vaping prevention legislation.

Tracy has a twenty year career in fund development working in management capacities for the Canadian Red Cross, both provincially and throughout Atlantic Canada, the Atlantic Division Canoe Kayak Canada and for client specific events in the area of corporate sponsorship and engagement. Tracy has extensive experience in corporate relations, business and partnership development, event management, grant and proposal writing, strategic planning for results and general management.

Lynette has an extensive background in business administration, being self-employed for over 20 years and in business management for six years.  

​

Lynette does data entry, records, receipts and processes all gifts that pass through our doors.  If you have a question or concern about our direct mail campaigns, tax receipts or your personal donation record, Lynette has the answers.  Lynette’s background in volunteering and her communication skills make her an excellent volunteer supervisor.

Lacey joined the team in January 2021 as Operations Coordinator. Prior to this she was an intern with LungNSPEI in her final semester of her BSc in Health Promotion at Dalhousie. During this time she developed a passion for advocating for the lung health of Nova Scotians and Islanders. Lacey oversees radon education/programs, and manages our COPD Support groups, among other things.

Jennifer recently joined the team in January 2023 as the Office and Programs Coordinator. She has a background in office administration, health promotion and therapeutic recreation. She is passionate about health and living a healthy lifestyle. Jennifer provides administrative support and oversees the Sleep Apnea Refurbishment program and Links Fore Lungs Golf Book.

Abbey recently joined the LungNSPEI team in May of 2022 as Communications Coordinator. She is a recent graduate of the University of Prince Edward Island with a major in Applied Communications, Leadership, and Culture. Her role entails the coordination of daily communications of the Association, developing and managing promotion and public-facing communications, including print, website, social media channels, and video assets. Abbey is looking forward to advocating lung health in both NS and PEI.

Jenn joined the LungNSPEI team in July 2024 as the Youth Vaping Coalition Coordinator. With a degree in Sociology and Anthropology, along with a minor in Diversity and Social Justice Studies, Jenn brings a strong foundation in understanding social dynamics and community impact. She is excited to work with LungNSPEI to address the critical issue of youth vaping, advocating for healthier futures, and supporting the well-being of young people.

Tamsyn Brennan, MSW, RSW, MBA, is the Quit Your Way Facilitator with LungNSPEI, guiding individuals, groups, and organizations through smoking cessation in a client-centered and compassionate manner. With a background in both social work and business, she brings a unique blend of clinical insight and organizational knowledge to her practice. Her work is grounded in the belief that investing in well-being -both at the individual and systemic level - eads to more sustainable and effective support for people navigating complex life challenges.
